We are working on good study habits and organization during this year. Students are required to have a parent sign their assignment books daily. Good habits happen by being consistent, which is key to success!
The Wax Museum is scheduled for Friday, April 27th from 8:00-10:15 in the BCE Cafeteria. This year our charity is called The Cure Starts Now, which helps support the fight against pediatric brain cancer. Our students have been working very hard researching their characters and writing speeches. Below are the due dates for various items before the actual Wax Museum date:
Now-April 26th: Please allow time each night for your child to practice his/her speech. We will have some time in class to do this, but the majority of the memorization needs to be done at home. I have printed out the speeches and have sent them home with each child. Contact me if it gets lost or they can pull them up in their Google Docs from home.
Friday, April 20th: Take a photo of your child’s costume, including props if applicable, and email to me by Friday, the 20th. I will send any feedback you need on these. email@example.com
Monday, April 23rd: Send in a container for all the coins your child will receive during the Wax Museum. Possible container options: Pringles can, half gallon of milk, large plastic water bottles, Clorox Wipes container. This container must be decorated with the name of your child’s Wax Museum character and a photo of the character
Tuesday, April 24th: Gather Wax Museum costume and bring it to school in a bag. We will be doing a dress rehearsal on Tuesday (maybe into Wednesday) during our social studies class. The costume does not have to be perfect/complete on Tuesday and Wednesday. All students will bring their costume home before Friday. Please don't come to school in costume.
Day of the Wax Museum, Friday, April 27th: Please have your children arrive at school dressed and ready for the Wax Museum. We will only have 5-10 minutes after announcements before they start. They are welcome to come directly to their homeroom class for any last minute prep-makeup, hair, uncomfortable shoes, etc. If you can stay and help, that would be great! Please send a change of clothes for afterwards.
